The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of projects and procuring all necessary materials and services to complete the construction on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by scaling and taking off plans and specifications and identifying key cost factors, such as M&E, Glazing, materials, and labour expenses.
• Work closely with the director and project manager(s) to understand the scope of work and provide presentable and accurate costings in our unique format or in a format delivered by our client.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and secure high-quality materials and services.
• Maintain timely and accurate records of estimates, purchases, and inventory.
• Liaise with the construction team to ensure materials arrive on schedule and are allocated correctly.
• Contribute to the improvement of cost-reduction strategies and procurement processes.
• Attend site visits and project meetings as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator and/or Buyer, with a focus on residential or commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of the UK construction market and Sussex region suppliers.
• Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of CAD software and / or estimating software is a plus.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation skills and a basic understanding of JCT or RIBA contracts.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the region for site visits.
• A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction
• Management, or a related field is preferable but not essential.

GreenBuild is currently recruiting experienced 1st and 2nd fix Carpenters for ongoing projects in Sussex & Surrey.

Duties will include all aspects of 1st and 2nd fix work.

Candidates must have:

• Valid CSCS card in Carpentry
• Experience in both 1st and 2nd fix Carpentry
• Full PPE & Own Tools
• 2 x Checkable references on request
• Transport

GreenBuild is currently recruiting a Site Foreman to work on a permanent basis within our expanding company. Applicants must be experienced, knowledgeable and comfortable managing jobs, whilst being prepared to work on the tools whenever necessary.

Candidates must have:

• Valid CSCS card in Carpentry
• Experience in both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
• Full PPE & Own Tools
• 2 x Contactable references on request
• Transport

The successful candidate will:

• Computer literate and have the ability to read drawings.
• Highly organised, with the ability to think on their feet and solve problems.
• Ability to run a team of 5 directly employed labour plus specialist subcontractors on site whilst working on the tools from time to time, undertaking general building works as needed.
• Self-motivated with high standards and an extremely good eye for detail.
• The ability to manage a large workload without supervision.
• Excellent people and management skills.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• A proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
• Experience of cost control and materials purchasing.
• Relevant CSCS, First Aid certification and competency cards will be required.

GreenBuild is currently recruiting an experienced groundworker /  bricklayer for ongoing projects in Sussex & Surrey.

Candidates must have:

• Valid CSCS card
• 2 years experience in all aspects of bricklaying
• Full PPE & Own Tools
• 2 x Checkable references on request
• Transport and driving licence

Our HQ is in Horsham and the work will be focused around Sussex & Surrey.
Responsibilities include driving materials to and from sites and some of the labouring activity onsite.

Hours: 7am start – 4pm finish, Monday – Friday (and some weekends as agreed)

Candidates must have:

• 2 years driving experience and aged 20+
• Full PPE
• 2 x Checkable references on request
• Clean driving licence
